More Classrooms of the Future!

We were alerted, via a Tweet, today to the 2009 Open Architecture Challenge: Classroom. This open and anonymous competition has seen hundreds of entries from around the world over the last four months.  The brief was to create innovative, sustainable and affordable learning environments and yesterday eight finalists were announced.  We were happy to see Fielden Clegg Bradley Studios, who we have the privilege of working with on the Law and Earth Sciences Library at University of Bristol, top of the list with their Adaptable Hillside Classroom.  The project has resulted in an online resource for educators and local authorities who can download the projects and replicate or adapt the ideas.
