Linking Place and Space – Assessment Tools

Our team have been actively researching the concept of ‘people centred places’ for five years now.  During this time we have carried out a number or field and or consultation projects and have tried and tested a plethora of methods for understanding our clients spaces and their needs.  We now feel confident that we have constructed a sound methodology and amassed a toolkit of interchangeable methods. As a result we have created a number of assessment tools.  These tools are designed to support our designers,  aiding them to ask the right questions and helping them to understand the space they are investigating in a fraction of the time it may take using more conventional processes.  The tools are focused on the concept of linking good spaces with the vital notion of place.   We have just completed the first round of tests on the tools and they work well.  This type of approach is more often associated with product design rather than interiors and we would be very interested to know if others in our field have come across or created anything similar so please drop us an email at if you are interested in knowing more about our approach or know of similar projects.
