Two New Projects Open

It’s been a while since we had a live project open but like buses two have come along at once.  The first is Sheppard Library at Middlesex University.  We began working on this project way back in 2009 when we ran a field research and consultation project which produced the brief for the project.  We were commissioned to carry out the full design a year later and it opened it’s doors at the start of the Autumn term.  Unfortunately they have been swamped by students so we have not been able to secure good photography yet but hope to in the next couple of weeks so keep an eye on the blog and website for more up to date images.  The second project to open it’s doors was Rutland Surgery which is slightly closer to home in Govan.  The surgery was officially opened by  Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Cities Strategy Nicola Sturgeon on the 2nd of December 2011. We are delighted with the outcome which was a collaboration between our designers, patients of the centre and the doctors themselves. We are particularly happy with the fence which took us a bit of time to convince Glasgow City Council of it’s artistic merits!

“…the object and color in the materials around us actually have a physical effect on us, on how we feel.” Florence Nightingale.

Patients are already feeling down and lousy and they certainly do not need a drab environment to remind them of how they feel. The waiting area of the surgery looks gorgeous and would certainly lift any poorly spirits!
