CGC Update

The library project at CGC is now complete and is being well used by students.  Our client at the college is delighted with the project, especially the canopies which we are having an interesting effect on the space.

The canopies were originally conceived as a means of zoning space without putting up visual barriers.  We also hoped that they would bring some additional light into the space along with some acoustic insulation.  Our client tells us that the canopies are not only working but that they are having an even greater impact than we originally hoped.  Apparently the LED lighting above the canopies that is diffused through the graphic ‘sky’ is very gentle and this along with slight acoustic change when sitting under them produces a restful, calm atmosphere and this seems to be helping students to focus.

We shot this space last week with John Cooper http://www.johncooperphotography.net/and hope to have photography for our website soon
