KCL Winner announced

It’s a year now since we were commissioned by Kings College London to help them to construct a brief for the Quadrangle architectural competition.  In the first phase of our work with Kings we ran a creative consultation project working with both staff and students over a six-month period.  The result was a Creative Brief, which was issued as a key component of the architectural competition.  The competition was launched by RIBA during the summer this year and received over 100 entries from across the UK and Europe.  A shortlist of six architects was drawn up which included

  • Hall McKnight Architects
  • Estudio Barozzi Veiga
  • Estudio Carme Pinos
  • Eric Parry Architects
  • Henley Halebrown Rorrison
  • Zaha Hadid Architects.

Each of the shortlisted firms received a copy of the Quadrangle Creative Consultation booklet (see below) and final schemes were exhibited online and in an exhibition in Somerset House at the end of August.  On the 10th of October KCL announced the winner as Hall McKnight Architects (see above).  You can see the announcement and connect into the exhibition here, http://tinyurl.com/d2qzq2u

We are now looking forward to the next exciting stages as the design scheme gets underway!  The project is due for completion Easter 2013
